The Heart of Giving
Devotional: Often, we approach giving as a mathematical equation or a religious obligation. We calculate percentages, consider tax benefits, and try to determine the minimum requirement. But God is far more interested in the condition of our hearts than the content of our wallets. When we truly understand this, giving becomes less about meeting a requirement and more about responding to God's incredible generosity toward us. After all, He gave His very best for us - His only Son. Our giving should flow from a heart of gratitude and love, not obligation or duty.
Key Bible Verse: "Don't lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, but lay up for yourself treasures in heaven." - Matthew 6:20
Reflection Question: How would your approach to giving change if you focused more on your heart's motivation than on the amount?
Quote: "It's not about God wanting all of your money. It's about him wanting your heart."
Prayer: Lord, help me to give from a heart of love and gratitude rather than obligation. Transform my perspective on giving to align with Your heart. Amen.
