DAY 3 | Luke 10:27

Verse: He answered, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ ; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”

Devotion: Jesus is talking here about necessities for eternal life. Passion for God is a necessity, it is the motivation for our obedience. If we try to obey based on a sense of duty, our morality, the fulfilling of a religious vow we will not be successful in walking this abundant life. Loving the one who saved us, should be easy but it can grow stale like any relationship. So how do I rekindle my love? Take a long look into the Saviors eyes and remember where you would be without him.

Prayer: Lord, my love grows cold from time to time. Help me to carve out alone time in your Spirit. Rekindle the flame I pray. Amen.
