DAY 28 | Psalm 46:4-5

Verse: There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall;

Devotion: This psalm is referencing the underground brook (Shiloah or Siloam) that fed living water into the city of Jerusalem. When the people of God were surrounded by armies on all sides, they could hide in the fortress, that was the city of God, and know that God would sustain them. There many times in our life where we feel like we are surrounded by enemies; where we are just bombarded with struggle and tribulation. God wants us to know that, even in the hardest times, he has a river of peace that will sustain us. It will nourish us and comfort us. Take heart in your season of struggle, God is with you and he will not let you fall.

Prayer: Lord, when our world feels overwhelming, help us to remember that there is a river of peace available for us. That you have provided all we need to get us through. You are our comfort. You are our portion. You are all we need. Amen
