DAY 24 | Lamentations 3:25-26

Verse: “The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”

Devotion: I would define a season of waiting as the period of time between the ask and the answer. The painful span of time between our prayer and God’s response. No one is exempt from this season. We all walk through it but we don’t all walk through it the same way. Some of us see the quiet void, left by God’s lack of response, and we fill it with our own noise and complaints. We cry, we complain, we barter; we drown the uncomfortable silence with our noise. But God says there is value in the void. There is something good about the silence before the response. There is a benefit to the waiting. He is good to those who wait quietly. So embrace the uncomfortable silence, and rest in the embrace of the Father. He is a comforter. His heart always moves before his hand.

Prayer: Lord, we quiet our souls today. We set aside our prayers and petitions and instead we seek your face. Abba, we melt in your embrace. Meet us in the void, hold us in the waiting, and teach us to value your heart more than your hand. Amen.
